He had been seriously ill with lung cancer for the past 11 months."Mr. Brewer was born March 28, 1946, in Hensley, W.Va., to the late Charles E. Brewer Sr. and Evelyn (Foley) Brewer Bowman. He was married feb. 3, 1974, to Ruth (Wright) Brewer, who survives.
"Also surviving are nine children including margaret Brewer of Bucyrus, Stephanie Brewer, at home, Randy and Ashley Bowman, at home, a brother, Terry Foley of Walled Lake, Mich., two half-brothers, Frank and Billy Bowman, four sisters, Mrs. Jim (Wanda) Wilcox of Clarkston, Mich., Mrs. Gary (Brenda0) Riley of Attica, Shirley Willett of Warren, Mich., and Drema Turner of Bucyrus, and two grandchildren.

Fishing and hunting were some of his passions, as well as spending lots of time with his grandchildren and nurturing his garden. Ralph built a family grounded in faith, laughter, and unconditional love. Ralph spent many years working in the coal mines of West Virginia. He spent the most time with Amonate and Consolidation Coal Company.
"Ralph was known for his gentle heart, his quick wit, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was sharing stories on the front porch, fishing in the creek, or teaching his children the value of hard work, he poured love into absolutely everything he did.
