She was a homemaker and a loving mother of twelve children, grandmother of twenty-three, and the great-grandmother of seventeen."Anna Mae was born August 26, 1937 in McDowell County, a daughter of the late Roby “Red” Phillips (Deceased) and the late Ida Mae Stacy-Gibson-Phillips-Christian (1909–1988). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Johnson (1934-1986); six brothers, James Gibson (1926-Deceased), George Phillips (Deceased), Douglas Phillips (Deceased), Harry Phillips (Deceased), Billy Gray Phillips (Deceased), and Delano Phillips (Deceased); two sisters, Bernice Phillips-Lane (Deceased) & husband Luttrell Lane (Deceased), and Virginia Phillips-Somoskey (Deceased); one grandson, John Waldon Johnson (1985-1985); one great-grandson, Brian Dale Owens (Deceased); and one great-nephew, Eric Burton (Deceased).
