"Richard Alan Addair Sr., departed his earthly home to go to his heavenly home following a long illness on January 8, 2021 at the home of his mother surrounded by his family. Richard age 60 was born November 28, 1960 in Arlington, VA. He was the son of the late Luther Edwin “Shag” Addair and Dawn Jean Lowery Addair of Grapevine, WV. Richard was a 1980 Graduate of Iaeger High School. After graduation he moved to Arlington VA, living there for a year and half until he moved back home to the Grapevine/Avondale, WV area until he passed. He drove a coal truck for many years, worked as an underground miner at Rock N Roll Coal Co., he was a heavy machine operator and truck driver at Litwar Tipple, and was lastly employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways. He is a member of the UMWA. He was of Christian Faith and a member of the Garland Church of the Living God. He had a love for riding his motorcycle, Harley Davidson, the Washington Redskins, Nascar Racing, his Grapevine community, and his family and friends. He was a very giving and caring man, touching many lives throughout his years. He never knew just how many people he made an impact upon or just how many people will miss his presence. The Family would like to take this time to thank Dr. Schor, his staff, Charlotte Buckner, FNP and WCH staff, PCH Home Health Staff, and Hospice Compassus Staff: Tammy Christain, Alisha Hagerman, and Hannah Smallwood for all their services during Richard’s illness. Richard was proceeded in death by his daddy, Luther “Shag” Addair Sr, infant daughter Patricia Addair, Paternal grandparents Thomas “Tom” Addair and Victoria “Toy” Bowen Addair, Maternal grandparents Henry Lowery and Margret Rippeth Lowery, Paternal Uncles Teddy Addair, Robert Brackett, Danilo Fuentes, and Carl Phillips, and Maternal Uncle Jimmy “Bebo” Lowery. Those left to cherish his precious memories are his mother Dawn Jean Lowery Addair, of Grapevine WV, Brothers: Luther Addair Jr and wife Dian of Christians Bend TN, Larry Dean Addair and wife Hazel of Grapevine WV, Sister Judi Bowen and husband Scott of Church Hill TN.
