Born in McDowell, W.Va., he was the son of the late Hobert G. and Sarah Mullins Honaker. He was a U.S. World War II Army veteran, serving as a combat engineer, having worked on the Burma Road. He was pastor of Pilgrims Knob Church of God and a retired coal miner.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Stover Honaker; one son, Billy Wayne Honaker; three brothers, Sherman, Marion and Herman Honaker; and two sisters, Lorene Honaker and Hannah Hawkins.
