He was a retired coal miner with 37 years in the mines. He worked for Robinson & Phillips Coal Company; attended the Bartley Church of God; listening to preaching and gospel music; and meeting and talking with people. His life-long passion was working with horses.
"In addition to his parents Roby was preceded in death by three brothers, George Keen, Jake Keen, and William Charlie Finely; two sisters, Sue Higgenbottom and Lois Woods; and a half-sister, Albert Lucille Proffitt.
