Cathy was born in Welch, WV on October 22, 1969, to Joyce Mullins Reed of Lincolnton, NC and the late Thomas Reed."Cathy made friends wherever she went. She was a strong independent woman who had health issues all of her life. She kept her faith up to her last breath. She was ready for her journey to walk with God. Cathy worked at DHHR in West Virginia and was a CNA and NA in North Carolina. She loved to crochet, quilting and crafts in general, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and with her son. She was a great mom and a good cook.

She was member of the Bradshaw Church of God for over 40 years; she worked diligently serving her church and community. Ida was a member of the Bradshaw Lions Club for over 30 years. She was the first lady president of the Bradshaw Lions Club and also served as their treasurer and secretary. She earned several awards for her service to the Lions Club. Ida was a volunteer of the River View Band Boosters and the River View football team. She was the Biddy Basketball coach at Bradshaw Elementary School for five years.
