He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA, working 25 years at Bishop and retired from Olga Coal Company of Caretta and Coalwood, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Boothe; brothers, William “Bill” Jasper Boothe, Jr., Garson Boothe, Teddy Boothe, and an infant brother, Joseph Patton Boothe; one sister, Sadie Boothe Phillips.
