"Mary Margaret Dawson, 72, of Caretta, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at her residence. Born August 29, 1948 in Welch, she was the daughter of the late Harless Dawson and Margaret Addair Dawson.

"Mary was a former driver for the Cimmaron Coach PTI, a graduate of Baileysville High School, she enjoyed Bible Study and was a member of the Yukon #2 Pentecostal Holiness Church.

"In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Dawson and one sister, Iretha Cowherd.

"Those left to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted husband, Manuel Lee Dawson; two sons, Manuel Lee Dawson II and wife Cheryl of Tazewell and Michael Wayne Dawson of Iron Station, NC; one daughter, Crystal Dawson Church and husband Jeff of Caretta; three brothers, Herman Dawson and wife Kathleen of Mullins, Sonny Dawson of Baileysville, Larry Dawson and wife Mary of Huff Creek; two sisters, Mae Pugh of Caretta and Barbara Miller and husband Dale of Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Carol Dawson of Ravencliff; six grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, David, Jeffery, Michael and Kayla; and four great grandchildren.

"It was Mary’s request to be cremated and her family has honored that request.

"A Memorial Service will be conducted Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Yukon #2 Pentecostal Holiness Church in Yukon at 6:00 PM with the Reverend Lacy Griffith and Reverend James Cline officiating.

"There will be no visitation.

"Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.

"The Douglas Mortuary in Welch is serving the Dawson family. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.douglasmortuary.com"
