" MYRTLE POINT Graveside services for Elmer Barton Sparks, 73,. Myrtle Point, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens in Coquille, conducted by Pastor Jim Schuman of Myrtle Point Church of the Nazarene. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Myrtle Grove Funeral Home, 265 Rink Creek Road, 269-2851. He was bom May 25, 1920, in Virginia, and died Jan. 25, 1994, in Myrtle Point of cancer. The son of the late Elder and Mrs. Giden Sparks, he was an ordained elder of the old Regular Primitive Baptist Church, and had served as deacon and cleric. Survivors include his wife, Ruby L.' Sparks of Myrtle Point; his children, Evelyn Calhoun, Margie Mullins, Gilbert and Shover Sparks, Loraine (Trigger, Ronnie Sparks, Mary Fox, Sue Ammons, Debbie Bowels, Diane Davis, and Clyde Sparks; step-children. Bob Sturgill, Anna Margaret Stallard, Jim Sturgill and Betty Kistner, his brothers, Clinton, Clyde and Rex Sparks; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Giden and Melissa Sparks, and twq brothers, Earnest and Claude Sparks. The family suggests donations to South Coast Hospice, 371 W. Anderson, Suite 218, Coos Bay, 97420, or to Myrtle Point Church of the Nazarene, 1545 Maple, Myrtle Point, 97458."
