"Helen Marie Click Sweeney, age 85 of North Tazewell, VA took the outstretched hand of her Lord and Savior Friday, June 4 , 2021, beginning her eternal life and reuniting with loved ones in heaven."Helen was born August 11, 1935 in Atwell, WV to the late Robert Lee Click and Maudie Matney Click. There, she met and married Okey Lee Sweeney, with whom she would share the next 60 years and five children. They married April 26, 1952 and the family moved to Tazewell in 1976.
"Helen did as Romans 10:9 states: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved,” and gave her heart to the Lord on Sept 29, 1974. She was baptized on October 13, 1974. Helen was a long-time member of Dial Rock Church of God, teaching Sunday School and working in the food pantry. At the time of her death, she attended Tazewell Family Worship Center and there was a member of The Mending Hearts.
"Helen loved to study the bible, crochet, take trips with and visit her family, travel with The Mending Hearts, and entertain company. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and if you left hungry it wasn’t because the table was empty. Later in her life she worked for Heck’s for 12 years before then becoming the caregiver for her mother for another twelve years.
"Helen was proceeded in death by her parents and husband, daughter Connie Lee Kinser, son Jerry Dean Sweeney, grandson James Lee Parsons II, daughters-in-law Darles Ann Sweeney and Rhonda Sue Sweeney, and sister-in-law Carol Baker Click.
"Left to cherish her memory are son Wayne Sweeney and wife Melissa of Stickleyville, VA, daughter Nancy Jones and husband David of Tazewell, daughter Joann Parsons and husband Jimmy of Woodway, VA, and son-in-law Kyle Kinser of Tazewell. Helen was a proud grandmother to her nine grandchildren: Robbie Hamilton and wife Monica, Jason Kinser and wife Jennifer, Jamie Kinser and wife Sara, Marsha Miller and husband Paul, Dustin Jones and wife Cindy, Lindsey Jones and husband Matt, Jerry Dean Sweeney II, Misty Akers, Leanna and Bobby Allen. Helen was also blessed to have 20 great-grandchildren: Riley, Chris, Brandon, Isadora, Daniel, Phillip, Lyric, Cash, Atlas, Samson, Daisy, Luna, Adam, David, Eliza, Cheyenne, Annabella, Katelyn, Hunter, and Sawyer. Helen also leaves behind her brother Bill Click and wife Lorene, and nephew Stanley Click and wife Karen.
"The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday with the Reverend Revonda DeBord officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. All great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and a member of The Mending Hearts.
