Mrs. Bowling was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield and was formerly a member of St. Anne's Altar Society. She had worked as a pediatric nurse at Dr. Spencer and Dr. McCrae's Pediatric Clinic. She enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling.

Surviving are her husband of almost 62 years, Okey Ray Ford; her children Kathy Rae and Tommy Cundiff, Pat and Terry Schronce, Terri and Frank Hodges; grandchildren, T.C. III and Melissa Cundiff, Jeremy Ray Cundiff, Lena Heather and Derek Allen, Robbie and Tiffany Hodges, and Kyle and Mary Hodges; great grandchildren, Raegan Allen, Olivia Allen, Karley Cundiff, Esrina Rae Hodges, and Tucker Hodges.
