"Samuel Robert Canada, I, 83, of Ravencliff, WV entered his Heavenly Home on January 5, 2026. He was born on June 2, 1942 in Maben, WV a son of the late Lelah Bailey Canada and Claude Canada. Sam was a coal miner who bolted top most of his career. His last bolt was with Ranger Fuel in Sabine, WV. He was a member and served as a deacon at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Sam was a loving and caring father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family. He was an avid storyteller, leaving you questioning if it was truth or just a story tale. Sam had the biggest heart and truly cared for those surrounding him. He enjoyed yard sales, camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved spending time sitting on the porch with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Leeson Canada, a son Samuel Robert Canada, II, grandson William Shawn Keith, and a brother Kenneth Canada. Those left to cherish his memory include a son Jason Canada and wife Lisa of Glen Fork, grandchildren Mason and Alivia Canada, three daughters Teresa Canada Terry and husband Rick of Glen Daniels, grandchildren Ricky (Tiffany) and Claudia Terry, great grandchildren Gavyn, Aaron and Gracie Terry, Rebecca Canada Toler and husband Wayne of Sabine, grandchildren Travis Bailey and Cadeance Compton, great grandchildren Audrey and Finneas Bailey, Destiny Canada Mullins and husband Zach of Glen Fork, grandchildren Madyson and Jaxon Hodge, Paizleigh, Waylon, and Cooper Mullins, daughter-in-law Kristy Tilley Canada, grandchildren Andy Sizemore and wife Misty, Samantha Canada, and Katie Canada, great grandchildren Makaylee, Makiya, and Brantley Sizemore, brothers Otis “Mutt” Canada and Jim Canada, sisters Jessie Halsey, Sue Cook, Judy Counts, and Joyce Sullivan, and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
