"GLOVER - Vanessa Ann Browning-Adkins, 52, of Glover, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at her residence following a long illness."Born December 4, 1959, at Man, she was the daughter of the late Virgil A. Browning (1918-1986) and Marie Osborne-Browning (1927-1992).
"Vanessa was a member of the Brenton Baptist Church. She was a 1978 graduate of Oceana High School. She was employed as a daycare provider at the Pineville Presbyterian Church Daycare and had worked at Rundle & Rundle Law Offices in Pineville. Vanessa enjoyed taking care of children, spending time with her family and caring for animals.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Browning (1955-1998); and father-in-law, Mack Adkins (Deceased).
"Survivors include her husband of 32 years, David Adkins; two daughters, Dr. Joanna Adkins-Bailey and her husband, David, of Morgantown and Misty Adkins-Thompson and her husband, David, of Glover; two granddaughters, Devyn Thompson and Mackenzie Thompson; two brothers, Neil Browning of Richmond, Va., and Duane Browning of Lynco; two sisters, Elaine Browning-Robertson of Tampa, Fla., and Janice Browning-Boyce of Rock Hill, S.C.; her mother-in-law, Ruth Adkins of Glover; and several nieces and nephews.
"A celebration of Vanessa's life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, Pineville, with the Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at the funeral home.

"Hazel Black entered her heavenly home on June 27th, 2021 following a long illness. Hazel was the daughter of Clara Hagerman Woody and Malcom Green, and dedicated step-father Blaine Woody. Born on September 29, 1938. Hazel was a dedicated CNA and caregiver her whole life. She could always be found taking care of folks and cleaning homes. She had a passion for Nature, her flowers and garden were always beautiful . Hazel loved her fur babies and family with a fierce passion." Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wade Black, both of her parents, Step-Father Blaine Woody, a brother, Arthur Hawks, a granddaughter Nicole Renee, and 1 son Charles Newton Mote.
