"Mr. Guyer was a native of Rockingham county but spent the greater part of his life at Brandywine.
"He had a wide circle of friends and was held in the highest esteem by all.
"He had been an active member of the Christian Church for fifty years.
"During the year 1873 he married Miss Sarah Robinson, who survives him. To this union eight children were born.
"One son and two daughters preceded him in death. Surviving are W. L. Guyer, Columbus, G. C. Guyer White Sulphur Springs, M. W. Guyer, Miss Jesse Guyer and Mrs. D. S. Anderson, of Brandywine.
