"Quinto Patrick Falgiani Jr., 89, of War, WV, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Arium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC. Born May 10, 1935 in War, WV, he was the son of the late Quinto Falgiani and Mary Buonamici Falgiani."Quinto was a retired coal miner of 40 years, who loved the outdoors, fishing and riding in the mountains and going to the top of High Rock. He especially enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he served for several years on the War Town Council. He attended Big Creek High School and he was of the Catholic Faith. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brother, Sammy Falgiano and Phillip Falgiani; and one sister, Gena Chappell.
"Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Mary Ann Matney Falgiani of the home; four sons, Quinto Falgiani III and wife Tina of Tazewell, VA, Amideo Falgiani and wife Faith of Pearisburg, VA, Joe Falgiani of War, Vincent Falgiani and wife Grace of War, WV; two daughters, Cathy VanDyke and husband Wayne of Alderson, WV, Maria Frazier of War; two sisters, Minney Holley of Orlando, FL, Katherine Diltz of Rocky Gap, VA; special grandson, Bryson Adams of War; fifteen grandchildren; three great granddaughters; and one great grandson.
"Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the New Beginning Church (formerly the Catholic Church) in War, with the Reverends Barry Baker and Raymond Hagerman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA., with Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Iaeger V.F.W. Post 1144 and the Virginia Military Honor Guard.
