"Ralph Edward Fife, 74, of Jolo WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family."Born on July 14, 1951, he grew up with a deep love for the mountains. Fishing and hunting were some of his passions, as well as spending lots of time with his grandchildren and nurturing his garden. Ralph built a family grounded in faith, laughter, and unconditional love. Ralph spent many years working in the coal mines of West Virginia. He spent the most time with Amonate and Consolidation Coal Company.
"Ralph was known for his gentle heart, his quick wit, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was sharing stories on the front porch, fishing in the creek, or teaching his children the value of hard work, he poured love into absolutely everything he did.

"William “Bill” Allen Sims, 77, of Raysal, WV, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 in Bristol Regional Hospital in Bristol, TN."Bill was born January 25, 1947, in Raysal Hollow a son of the late John L. and Ruth M. Martin Sims. Bill was a retired coal miner from U.S. Steel at Pineville Shawnee and # 50 mine; he retired in 2005 with 30 years underground. To his work buddies Bill was known as “Cat” because he was quick and could get into small spaces; he was an electrician in the mines. Bill also worked for Magnavox in Greenville, TN in the late 1960’s. Bill grew up in Raysal Hollow as a child he loved being in the woods and hunting. In his younger years Bill was a volunteer fireman for Raysal, an election poll worker and also an avid hunter.
"In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Christian Sims; a brother, Gene and wife Barbara Sims; a sister, Stormy Mullins; his mother-in-law, Gladys Christian; brothers-in-law, Aldie Mullins, and Bub Ikard, and a step daughter, Patricia Hass.
