Born September 15, 1944 in Warriormine, WV, he was the son of the late Claude Sr and Lela C. Sexton Adams."He was a graduate of Big Creek High School. He served in the Army for three years. He was a member of the War Church of God. He worked with Project Life Saver. He was on the board of directors for the McDowell County Ambulance Authority. He was a member of the Berwind Community Watch. He was the Fire Chief of the Berwind Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years and a member of the McDowell County Firefighters Association; serving as Treasurer for 25+ years.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother in law Leonard Dougaree, his mother and father in law Darrie and Pat Foster, as well as Johnny and Louise Veselosky who were very dear to his heart.

"Joyce E. Adams, 67, of War, WV passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Clinch Valley Hospital after a short illness. Born February 6, 1953 in War, Joyce was the daughter of Darrie J. and Betty Jean (Pat) Ross Foster. Joyce was a life-long resident of McDowell County, a retired Postmaster, and member of Berwind Volunteer Fire Department, Neighborhood Watch, and the War Church of God. Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Claude Adams, Jr. and in addition to Claude and her parents: brother, Mike Foster; sister, Brenda Wilson; sister in law, Barbara Foster; one brother in law Paul Wilson; nephews: Mark Foster, Joshua Foster, Frankie Foster, Eric J. Foster and niece, Tabitha Foster. "Frances Elizabeth “Sis” Holcomb Cline, 94 of Hanover, WV, passed away at her home February 18, 2022 after a short illness."“Sis” was born in Trace, WV,(Kanawha County) January 13, 1928 to parents Jack & Goldie Withrow Holcomb. After travelling with her family throughout southern West Virginia, following sawmill work, the Holcomb family settled in Hanover where “Sis” attended Rose Branch Elementary School and then to Baileysville High School, where she graduated in 1945. After working a variety of jobs, “Sis” married Harold Cline, September 29, 1949. The couple settled in Hanover where she enjoyed her life as a wife, homemaker and becoming a mother to Jerry and Sherry. Throughout her life as a wife and homemaker, “Sis” enjoyed keeping a clean house, decorating, cooking and singing her favorite Gospel songs. “Sis” could sometimes be found exercising and stretching and on occasion even dancing to her favorite singers, Dean Martin & Kenny Rogers. Also, she really enjoyed her favorite foods, beans, cornbread and slaw. Her greatest pleasure came during the Holiday Season at Bartley and at Tennessee when she got to spend time with her parents, Jack & Goldie, aka Dad and “Muntul,” and her siblings and their families. “Sis” especially enjoyed the later years of her life with her grandchildren and seeing them grow into adults and being around family where she spent her last 14 years living with Sherry and her family in Clear Fork.
"“Sis” was preceded in death by husband Harold Cline, her parents, Jack and Goldie Holcomb, brothers Bill (Viola) Holcomb, Don Holcomb, Ronnie (Annette) Holcomb, sisters Dorothy “Dot” Lester, Betty (Lewis “Connie”) Moore.
"She is survived by brother Walter (Carol) Holcomb, brother-in-law, Ray Lester (Alice), daughter Sherry (Barry) Davis, son Jerry (Sharon) Cline, granddaughters and companions, Anna Davis (Jeff Wischer), Mckinsey Davis (Taylor Smith), Kelley Cline (Adam Lewczenko) and special great grandsons Ryker and Jedrik Lewczenko, and members of her Cline Family, Nora Cline and Elma Minton.

Spencer State hospital to give sanity tests to Thomas J. Farley, 33?, and Howard W. Mitchell, 30,
who are scheduled to be hanged on 30 Mar 1nd April 10, respectively.
