"Nancy Irene Dawson Sturgill Rose, 83, of the Golden
Harvest Long Term Care Unit in Welch, WV, formerly
of Bartley, WV, went to be with her Heavenly Father
Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Long Term Care Unit,
in Welch WV, following a long illness.
"Nancy was born July 12, 1928 in Lex, WV, a daughter
of the late John and Myrtle ?Mert? Dawson. She was
a lifetime resident of McDowell County. She was a
loving mother, wife and grandmother and was of the
Holiness Faith. She attended the Atwell Church of
God and was a Holiness preacher for several years.
"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death
by her first husband, Wade Sturgill, her second
husband, Cecil Hurley, and her third husband, Ervin
"JR" Rose; one son, Johnny Sturgill, one
granddaughter, Bonnie Lauderback, one sister,
Bertha Baker, and four brothers, Harless, Sherman,
Naoman, and Slemp Dawson.
"Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters,
Betty Mullins of Raysal, WV, Carolyn "Kay" Akers
and husband Graham of Charleston, WV, and Ola
Derryberry and husband Bill of Alabama; five sons,
Sherman "Billy" Dawson of Alabama, Franklin Sturgill
and wife Lynn of War, WV, Dallas Sturgill of Yukon,
Calvin Sturgill of Kentucky, and Charles Sturgill and
wife Linda of War, WV; thirty grandchildren; a host of
great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren;
numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who
loved her dearly; and her special friends, the staff of
Golden Harvest.

"Wanda Sue Daniels Gibson, 68, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord August 26, 2018 at her
home. She was born on April 19, 1950 in Phelps, KY a daughter of the late James Earl and Winnie Lockhart
Daniels. Wanda is a member of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is
preceded in death by a brother Junior Daniels and wife Iris Mae; a sister Glenna Willis; and two nephews
Lewis Daniels, Jr. and Lewis Sanders. Survivors include her loving husband William Dink Gibson; three
daughters Cindi (Jeff) Stewart of Huntersville, NC, Karrie Richardson of Martinsville, VA and Lethea
(Byron) Smith of Princeton; three grandchildren Corey Gibson, Finn Smith and Cannon Smith; two sisters
Betty Cooper of OH and Nancy (Robert) Snider of NC; a special friend that was like a sister Glenna Toler;
and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on
Wednesday August 29th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Jerry Cook
and Rev. James Walker officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
Friends may gather with the family from Noon until time of services on Wednesday August 29th at the
funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tracy Bowden, Leonard Gibson, Jeff Stewart. Byron Smith, Corey Gibson
and Denny Lester. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Toneda Missionary Baptist Church. The
family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
