"Ellen Mae Fox Massey, 70, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on May 10, 1955 in Logan, WV a daughter of the late James Howard and Tressie Nelson Fox. Ellen was a fulltime homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to church and talking about God. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Larry Massey, a son Charles “Chucky” Smith, granddaughter Lana Dempsey, three sisters Frances Music, Jeanie Fox, and Sally Jude, five brothers Joe Fox, James and his family, Billy Fox, Jeff Fox, and Robert Fox and Nephew Jacky Hoosier. Those left to cherish her memory include her four children Scott Adkins, James Smith and wife Kim, Amanda Fain and husband Josh, and Frances Ann Massey and her partner Terry Dempsey, six grandchildren Daniel Massey, Dominick Smith, Bryson Dempsey, Aria Dempsey, Mikey Fain and Peyton Fain, three sisters Lou Russell, Rosemary Lamb and husband Roy, and Eileen Hoosier and husband Leonard, a brother-in-law Roger Massey, a niece Samantha Vance Estep, special childhood cousins Susan Chapman, Sis Adkins, Eddie Nelson, special friends and Physicians Assistants Matt Hopkins and J.D. Shorter from Family Healthcare in Oceana, they always gave her joy and laughter. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 3rd in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Bro. Matthew Hatfield officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Cook Cemetery, Lynco, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11 am until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
