"Walter Lee Lockhart, Jr., 68, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah."Mr. Lockhart was a native of Welch, West Virginia who had lived in Long County for the past 14 years having moved here from Europe. He was born on September 4, 1950 to the late Walter Lee Lockhart, Sr. and Rosie Peak Lockhart. Mr. Lockhart was a graduate of Gary High School, Class of '69, in Gary, West Virginia. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era, where he received numerous awards, ribbons and medals. Mr. Lockhart was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. He will be missed by family and friends.
