"Thomas Ray Marshall, Jr., passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington.

"Thomas was born August 12, 1958 in Mullens, he was the son of the late Thomas Ray Marshall, S. and Mildred Lamb Marshall.

"Tommy earned a degree in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University, following graduation, he worked in the Natural Gas Industry and later he worked for the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources. He was a train enthusiast and had many published articles with pictures he had taken. He had an unassuming personality which won him many friends especially among those who loved trains.

"He is preceded in death by his parents.

"Tommy is survived by one brother, Phillip Wayne Marshall; and several aunts and cousins.

"Services will be 12 Noon, Monday, July 16, 2018 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Rev. Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny...."

"Alice Jane Cole, 73, of Pierpoint, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

"Born October 9, 1944 at Owensboro, KY, she was the daughter of the late Carl Statler Flach, Jr. and Ola Mae Bratton.

"Alice was a retired LPN and having last worked in Mental Health at Southern Highlands. Alice was a loving mother and grandmother.

"In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, William Dean Cole; and one brother, Bruce Wayne Pendleton.

"Those left to cherish her memory include her four daughters, Tina Ingram of Sophia, Tammy Gunnoe and her husband, Timothy of Maben, Christie Paitsel and her husband, Michael of Oceana, and Tracey Houck and her husband, Todd of Mullens; three sons, Jeff Cole of Georgia, Steven Cole and his wife, Melissa of Ravencliff, and William Shane Cole of Pierpoint; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister, Patrcia Pendleton of Illinois.

"Memorial service will be 7:00 P.M. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Rev. Cecil Prichett officiating.

"Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

"In keeping with Alice’s wishes her body will be cremated...."

"Mae Reynolds Jeffrey, 99, of Lynco passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. Born May 5, 1919, in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Etta Sullivan Reynolds.

"Mae enjoyed cooking, taking care of her flowers and lawn, quilting, sewing, and spending time with her precious family and beloved dog, Wilson. Mae was also an Avon sales representative for many years.

"She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Phillips, her second husband, Homer Jeffrey, and numerous brothers and sisters.

"Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Fayetta Phillips Short and her husband, Vernon, of Oceana; Dale Jeffrey and his wife, Nancy, of Lynco; Steve Jeffrey of Lillydale; Gary Jeffrey and his wife, Myranda, of Kinston, NC; David Bryant Jeffrey of Princeton; and Roger Jeffrey and his wife, Debra, of Zephyrhills, Fl; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson; and her twin sister, Faye Justice Thacker of Covington, Ky.

"The family would like to send a very special thank you to Melanie Arrigoni, great granddaughter, Betti Jeffery, and Stephan Jeffery, grandson, who were loving caregivers at home, and to Hospice of Southern WV for the wonderful care provided to their mother."
