"Born in Wilmington, Mr. Buchanan was the son of the late Robert E. and Theresa Buchanan. He worked as a foreman for a commercial laundry company before his retirement.
"His wife, Helen (Swiggett) Buchanan and his son, James Buchanan, Jr. predeceased him. He is survived by his children, William A. Buchanan and his wife, Pattie of Bear, DE, Wayne A. Buchanan of Newark, DE and Carole Morgan and her husband W. Gardner Morgan of West Palm Beach, FL; and daughter-in-law, Mei Buchanan of Annapolis, MD; his brother, Paul Buchanan of Wilmington, DE; his sister, Frances Twardus of Milford, DE; 6 grandchildren, Aileen, Scott, Heather, Ryan, Sheena and Catriona; and 4 great grandchildren.

"In Honor of Pearl Ethel Tabor"Pear Ethel Tabor was a truly loving and caring woman, sister, mother, grandmother and spouse, who was always bringing a light into the lives of those who met her. Pearl always fought hard to make sure that her family was happy and had what they needed and that they didn’t have to go without. She was stubborn, but she was always very kindhearted; changing the lives of those around her for the better. She made even some of the most scarred and broken people feel safe, loved and wanted; giving hope to them so they could live better lives. She was always finding ways to bring a smile or laugh to those around her. Even when you didn’t quite understand the jokes she made a smile form on you face and a laugh leave your lips. Pearl had an infectious personality that would lift your spirits when she entered the room. She would often sit in her chair next to her fiancé, whom she loved dearly, petting her cat, Ms. Puff, watching her game shows and reminiscing about the good times she had with family and friends. Even when times were hard and she got older Pearl never gave up or failed to make everyone feel wanted and loved, no matter what. She would always lend a helping hand and give hope to those around her. She loved her son and daughter unconditionally as well as her grandchildren and always joked about “Spoiling her babies rotten.” Even when the skies were stormy, she’d make them as beautiful as the blue she loved so much. She would call every day to let you know you that you were loved or to say goodnight and to make sure you were alright. She was one of a kind and irreplaceable to those whom she loved.
