"The graves of Mary (sic, Margaret?) Kay Burton and Mary Ann Burton, although originally located in Brenton, were moved to the Clay Cemetery (near Twin Falls). Not sure when, but they are there.
"That is also where Eileen Burton, Elmer Burton, Leon and Jackie McGraw are buried.
"Although she went by Burton, Ruth Marie Burton, may or may not have legally been "Burton". I do not know if Elmer Burton adopted her or not. Funny the things you never ask your parents when they are alive. I do know that her father was Claude Farmer (who was not married to Eileen Shumate/Burton) at the time of the birth. I probably can find the Court document that "found" Ruth was Claude Farmer's daughter - which was after the death of Claude sometime in the 1970's I think. In preparation for that court case, I don't think my parents ever found my mother's birth certificate; I believe she was born at home. I'm not sure it exists. I've searched the WV vital records under "Burton, Farmer, and Shumate and do not get a hit."

"Born at Maben, Eileen was the daughter of the late Millard Saunders and Linda Phillips Shumate. Eileen graduated in 1931 from Milam High School and graduated in 1961 Cum Laude from Morris Harvey College with a BS in Education. She taught at Sabine and at Glen Rogers Grade Schools. She was a member of the Wyoming County Retired Teachers Association. "A member of the Bellemeade Baptist Church in Sabine, Eileen was a former member of the Russell Baptist Church in Glen Fork where she taught Sunday school for more than 25 years. "Eileen was a resident of Glen Fork until 2000 when she moved to St. Albans to care for her dying daughter, Ruth “Jackie” McGraw. After Jackie’s death in 2001, she continued in St. Albans to care for her son-in-law with Alzheimer’s, Leon McGraw. In November 2002, she and Leon moved to Midland, MI to live with her surviving granddaughter and her husband, Gina and Jeff Palmer.
