"Jackie “Jack” Harless Bolden, 72 of Twin Branch. While surrounded by family and friends, Jack went to his brand-new home on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Born June 11, 1948, he was a long-life resident of Twin Branch. He was a son of the late Hobart Bolden and Daisy Harless Bolden.

"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul Bolden, Herman (Bud) Bolden, Melvin (Tine) Bolden, Earl and Bob Bolden; four sisters, Violet Morris, Margaret Collins, Letta England and Alice Hurley.

"Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 28 years, Marie Bolden; his four beautiful daughters, Jacquelyn Suzanne Bolden and companion Nonnie Kirk of Coalwood, Rebecca Lynn Triplett of Bluefield, Delores Mae Bishop of Twin Branch and Kristie Marie Rose and husband Bo of Hemphill; two stepsons, Johnny (John Boy) McCall of Bluewell and Donald (Bubba) McCall and companion Sarah Strattis of Twin Branch; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel and Takoda Triplett, Johnithan Bishop, Megan and Johnny McCall, Dalton Burbett, Hayleigh Rose and Avereigh Skye Vance; four great grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Bolden and wife Donna of Atlanta, GA and one sister, Sue Perkins of Hensley.

"He was a great caring and loving man and will be sadly missed. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith, Co-Pastor of the Big Sandy Lighthouse Church and Jack was known to be a great preacher and teacher of God’s word. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a former coal miner and electrician.

"Funeral services will be held Monday, October 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Twin Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church in Twin Branch with the Pastor Marie Bolden and Charlotte England, officiating. Burial will follow in the Asco Community Cemetery at Asco. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Iaeger V.F.W. Post 1144 of Iaeger.

"Friends may call at the church from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM.

"Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

"Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to worn by all attending and Social Distancing will be practiced. Group size must be held to 25 people or less.

"Curtis Eugene Hicks, 70, of Capels, WV departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Born April 3, 1950 in Mohegan, WV, he was the son of the late Curtis T. Hicks and Juanita G. Hicks. A lifelong resident of McDowell County, Curtis owned his own business and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
"In addition to his parents, Curtis is preceded in death by two sons, Justin Lee Hicks and Judd Matthew Surface, one brother, and a grandmother, Maude, to whom he credited much of his raising.

"Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years Mary Ellen Hicks; his children Ceci (Anthony) Williams off Woodbridge, VA, Cynthia Hicks of Durham, NC, Curtis Hicks Jr. (Jessica) of Capels, Kurt (Kimberly) Hicks of Shabby Run, Stephanie (Jose) Soto of Welch, and Casey Hicks (Jonathan Potter) of Welch; Sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister Connie Turner, three brothers, two sisters, and close friends.
