Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Steele. Robert is survived by his wife, Rosa Nell Matney Steele of Panther, WV; one son, Robert Owen (Becky) Steele; seven step-children, Diane (Flem) Justice, Deborah (Dave) Justice, Eddie (Valerie) Justice, Lisa (Thurman Mullins) Auville, Roberta (Glenn) Anderson, Andy (Rita) Justice and Michelle (Tony) Stewart; one brother, Ralph (Virginia) Steele; grandchildren; Amanda Bailey, Heather Bailey, Shauna Bogess, Briana Bailey, Michael Bailey Steven Bailey, Pamela Bailey, Gregory Lester, Heath Justice, Andrea Justice, Rebecca Vanover, Dedra Hulka, Lisa Marie Anderson, Robert Joseph Steele, Timothy Justice, Eddie Dean Justice, Melody Justice Maria Steele, Elysia Steele, Robert Steele and Tyler Scott Bailey and a special dog, Possum.
