"Judith Spencer Kowalski was born May 21, 1943 in Welch, WV and Stephen Edward Kowalski was born April 12, 1941 in Filbert, WV. Stephen (Steve) grew up in Filbert , WV and Judith (Judy) in Anawalt, WV. They met after going to Gary high school and got married in November 1962. Steve served in the Navy, worked for the coal mines, became a government mine inspector was then ordained and became a pastor for the Advent Christian church for 30+ years. He had churches in WV, SC and NC."Judy went to Marshall University and got her degree in biology via scholarship from the board of education and then came back to McDowell county WV to teach at Welch High School. She Taught high school biology and photography then became principal of Mount View High School in Welch, WV. After retirement they lived in Holly Ridge, NC .

"Judy is survived by sister Linda Gilley in Anawalt , WV and brother Ronnie in Bluefield, WV . Steve is survived by sister Frances Kowalski of Raleigh, NC and sister Velma Miller of Thousand Oaks, CA. The departed son, Steve Kowalski, Daughter Stephanie McIntyre of Austin TX, son Sean Kowalski of Pittsburgh PA, grandchildren Stephen Kowalski, Samantha Pham, Amanda McIntyre and 4 great grandchildren.
