"Norfolk - Helena P. Arrington, 89, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at DePaul Hospital.
Born, January 13, 1924, in Mercer Co., WV, she was the youngest of seven children of Emmett and Flossie Ring. Helena was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Arrington and her son, Larry D. Arrington.
"Survivors include a daughter, Deborah J. Platte and husband Raymond G. III; daughter-in-law, Ethel Arrington; grandson, Raymond G. Platte IV; granddaughter, Tia Renee Platte; great-granddaughter, Amanda J. Platte all of Norfolk and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
