She was an Adult Family Care Provider for over thirty years and was of the Holiness faith."In addition to her parents, Jessie James Mitchell and Lula Bell Mullins Mitchell, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee "Buster" Hicks; brothers, James Charlie Mitchell, Britt Mitchell, Hassell Mitchell, Newt Mitchell, Sam Mitchell; sisters Nora Jackson, Myrtle Jewell, Margaret Mitchell; grandsons, Dwayne Cline and Jimmy Clinton Cline; son-in-law, Jimmy Cline.

He also was a Coalwood Little League Baseball coach."Edward was born May 10, 1961, in Welch, WV, a son of Frank Marek (B. 1927) and Nancy Ann Patrick-Marek-Shelton (B. 1939), and her husband, the late Earl E. Shelton (1929-2007). Edward was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Marek (Deceased); and a daughter-in-law, April Lynn Miller-Marek (1975-2017).
