"Mrs. Geneva Franklin Collins age 93, a long time resident of Capels, WV who was called from labor to reward on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in (Newton) Hickory, NC where she had lived for the past four years. She was born in Lancaster, PA on the 24th day of October, 1928 and the daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Massie) Franklin. She was a devoted, loving wife to her husband, the late Eugene Collins for over 50 years and was a devoted, loving Mother to her Children. Before moving to NC and her health would allow, she was a very faithful member of the Royal Baptist Church in Capels and the Chorus. Her pastimes were spent watching her most favorite television game shows: The Price Is Right, Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy. She loved visiting her family and friends and was a very skilled driver, even beyond her years. In addition to her parents, Charles and Irene and her husband, Deacon Eugene, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Jean Collins and her granddaughter, Robyn Collins Anderson; six siblings: Bill and George Franklin, Aileen Chapman, Irene Sandusky, Mable Lancaster and Mildred Thompson. Mrs. Collins lived a "Blessed Life," with a heart full of love for her Family and others. She was a faithful supporter of the St. Jude's Foundation for Children and the last surviving member of her original family. A life time of wonderful memories will be shared by her children: Gloria (Booker T.) Wider of Woodbridge, VA, Mary Collins Isabelle of Bluefield, WV, Hazel Collins Turpin, Beverly (Elwood) Hairston and Geneva P. Collins all of Hickory, Larry D. Collins, of Riverdale, GA, Charles P. Collins of Hickory and Melvin F. Collins of Port St. Lucie, FL; a loving grandmother to her 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins and a special family member, Shavonne Pack-Wilson and a loving childhood friend, Mrs. Betty Poole. "Leroy M. Courts, 69, of War, WV, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his residence. Born August 25, 1951 in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Floyd R. Courts, Sr. and Mattie Pearl McGlothin Courts.
"He was a graduate of Big Creek High and went on to further his career in music and music education from Bluefield State College where he graduated. He on to receive his Master’s degree in music. He was a Music Director for the McDowell County Board of Education for many years and taught music throughout McDowell County Schools. He was also very willing to share his music talents with anyone that needed him to play for them. He was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in War.
"In addition to his parents Leroy was preceded in death by five sisters, Corrine Porter, Gladys Johnson, Pearline Edwards, Josephine Debose, and Valerie Marie Courts; four brothers, Floyd Courts Jr., Herbert Courts, Clyde Courts and Thomas Courts.
"Those left to cherish his memories are four sisters, Melinese Courts and Gracie Wallace both of War, Joyce Madrigal and husband Anthony of Tazewell, VA, and Geraldine (Geri) Rosser of Columbus, OH; and his best friend, Michael Lewis of Dayton, OH. He leaves a host of other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.

2020 at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1961 in Welch, WV, a son of Rev. Raymond Lewis Bishop and
wife Shelby of Lincolnton NC and the late Alma Lee Finley Bishop. He was an equipment operator and a member
of the Rockview Pentecostal Tabernacle in Rockview, WV. In addition to his mother he was proceeded in death
by his maternal grandparents Fred and Ruth Finley and his paternal grandparents Paris and Roxie Bishop.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years Donna Jean Russell Bishop; four sons Charles L. (Ashley) Bishop, II,

She was the youngest daughter of Samuel and Stella Brubaker Groff of Lincoln, PA. She was of the Mennonite Faith and later converted over to the Lutheran Faith. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bluefield, WV. She was a homemaker, secretary, and a plant worker before becoming disabled. She lived in WV most of her adult life until moving to Wytheville, VA to make her home with her daughter, Patty and son-in-law, Carl Lee Suthers. She resided with them for ten years.

"She loved bird watching and music with oldies and gospel being her favorites. She enjoyed flowers and their beauty. She was an avid cook and baker with Pennsylvania Dutch being her favorite. She was a member of the 4-H in high school where she won numerous first and second place ribbons especially at the county level. She collected hundreds of cookbooks in her life. She was very proud to display them and to share her recipes with others. It touched her heart to teach young women to cook.
"Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her only sister, Anna Elizabeth Groff, R.N. of Lancaster County, PA, her former husband James Mitchell of Jolo, WV and her first son-in-law, Johnny Beavers Sr of Jolo, WV.
