"Sam M. Harmon was born on May 7, 1891, in West Virginia, the child of Jonas and Elizabeth (Nicewander) Harmon. He married Lillie Adra Dixon in 1905 and had two daughters, Sylvia and Dovie Myrl. He married a second time in to Ruby Caral Grizzel and had three daughters (Sharon, Anna and Lena) between 1931 and 1936. He died on February 28, 1967, in McDowell, West Virginia, at the age of 75, and was buried in Hensley, West Virginia."
