'Bobby Gene Jones, 78, of Ritter near Avondale, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV."Bobby was born September 3, 1943, in Avondale, WV, a son of the late Crockett and Ora Blankenship Jones. He was a retired coal miner and truck driver; an avid gardener, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed being the longtime caretaker of the Mullins Cemetery on Crane Ridge that he passionately loved.
"In addition to his parents Bobby was preceded in death by four sisters, Josie Roberts, Goldie Pendleton, Carolyn Jones and Edna Schumbeck; three brothers, Alex, Joe and Kenny Jones; his first wife, Jean Jones and his beloved pet, his little dog, Precious.
"Survivors include his wife, Linda Roberts Jones of the home; two daughters, Christy Wade and husband Jason of Statesville, NC, and Bobbie Warrix and husband Randall also of Statesville, NC; two step sons, Ray Kelly of Avondale, WV, and Benji Kelly of Tennessee; two brothers, Troy Jones and wife Effie of Springfield, OH and Lee Jones of Greenbrier County, WV; one sister, Catherine Brakeall of Rockhill, SC; five grandchildren, Chelsey Rose and husband Tyler, Amber Coleman, Sarah, Sydney, and Carson Warrix; one great grandchild, Rylee Rose; six step grandchildren, Whitely, Bradley, Mendy, Anthony, Andrew and James; a special nephew, Wayne Jones and wife Mandy of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
