"Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Danessa Cantley Hardee that was his best friend and soulmate; one son, Zach Hardee of Crab Orchard; daughters, Courtney Johnson of NC, Maggie Hardee of Princewick, and Emma Hardee at home; Jerry was Pawpaw to Olivia Strickland of Ohio; foster dad to three children; twin brother, Terry Hardee and his wife, Mary of Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Delaine Marbry and her husband, Gary also of Chapel Hill, NC; special friends, Jim and Merilou Moore of Crab Orchard; special sister-in-law, Karen Boothe of AZ; special niece, Christa Strickland that was more like a daughter; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family.

"Jerry was a caring giving soul that would help anyone in need. He loved fishing, skating, karaoke, and 80’s music. Jerry was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School and Durham Tech where he pursued a nursing degree. He later became a certified Wound Care Practioner. Jerry was also the Owner and Operator of The Rabbit Hole Consignment Store in Sophia.

"A celebration of Jerry’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Mullens United Methodist Church, Mullens with Pastor Todd Weis officiating. Burial will follow at the Goode Cemetery, Bud Mountain...."

"Corbie Estep, age 82, of Paynesville, W.Va., died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 26, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Buchanan County, Va. on July 17, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Millie Mullins Mullins. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a member of the Mary Lou Old Regular Baptist Church for 50 years.

"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Hassel Estep in December 1980; and her granddaughter, Eden Le'Gail Mullins in January 1996. She was also preceded in death by eight sisters and five brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

"Survivors include two sons, Cody Estep and wife Elizabeth, Paynesville, W.Va., Dwight Estep and wife Teresa, Paynesville, W.Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Cora Lee), Paynesville, W.Va., Mrs. Danny J. (Abigail) Puckett, Paynesville, W.Va., Mrs. Larry (Pamela Kay) Mullins, Paynesville, W.Va.; grandchildren, Chris (Beti) Kissinger of Yuma, Ariz., Tracy (John) Casey of Athens, W.Va., Jessica (Chris) Cole of Marlington, W.Va., Leigh Ann Kissinger of Princeton, W.Va., Daniel J. Puckett, Paynesville, W.Va., Jacob (Aimee) Mullins of Elkhorn City, Ky., Ryan Estep and Airel Estep of Paynesville, W.Va.; great-granddaughters, Gabrielle, Tabitha, Shayla, and Heidi. "Funeral services for Corbie Estep will be held Monday, November 29, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Mary Lou Old Regular Baptist Church in Paynesville, W.Va. with Elders Phillip Estep, Gary Estep, George Baker, and James Stacy officiating with burial to follow in the W. R. Estep Cemetery at Paynesville.

"Friends may call after 6 p.m., Sunday evening at the church, where a service will be held at 7 p.m.

"married 31 July 1802, in Montgomery County, Virginia, Asa Hall, Sr,

"She was his second wife.
His first wife was Sarah Adams.

"Asa Hall and Jesse Hall, his brother, came from New York to the Roanoke Valley in Virginia about
1790

"They acquired land on the North Fork of Roanoke and although [Asa Hall, Sr.] was the owner of extensive lands he died a poor man.

"He was seventy-two in January, 1831, when he made a declaration applying for a pension for services in the
Revolution.

"He was in Captain Nathan Pearce's Company in Duchess County, New York and served at Long Island, White Plains and Stony Point, and aided in taking Burgoyne

"He said he had no income except what he derived from his own labor on a poor bit of land on and amid the steep mountains which but for the improvements in houses and fences would sell for scarcely more than fifty dollars.
The schedule of his personal estate was one mare and colt, $55; three cows and two calves, $24; seven head of sheep, $5; seven head of hogs, $5,
The management of the mountain land devolved upon his sons, Asa Hall, Jr., and Jesse C. Hall,"

"Mary Constance "Connie" Cordisco Walls of 690 White Pine Drive, Bland, Va., departed this life September 13, 2011. She was born in War, W.Va. on March 3, 1949 to the late Patsey and Marjorie Bise Cordisco. Connie graduated Big Creek High School and attended Concord University. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Kathy Greene and Rebecca Sue Cordisco.

"Connie leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, Roy Daniel Walls; three devoted children, Angelia Walls-Smith, Jennie Crabtree and husband Brad, Joseph Walls and wife Amy; five cherished grandchildren remain, Christopher Walls, Miranda Martin, Nicholas Smith, Jessica Smith, Matthew Walls; a beloved sister, Patty Cordisco Hawkins and husband Doug; two nieces and two nephews, Paige Beam, Beth Stutso, Scott Greene, Pete Hawkins; great-nieces, Peyton Beam and Sofia Stutso; great-nephews, Patrick Beam and Kaleb Hawkins live to remember and love her.
