"Alice Marie Blankenship Lester, 80, of Crouch’s Farm, WV, passed away October 7th 2025 peacefully after a courageous 3-month battle with complications from a stroke and industrial illness. Born on March 26, 1945, in Simon, WV, a daughter of the late Bert and Myrtle Blankenship. For over 50 years, Alice shared her incredible talent and unwavering faith as a member of her own gospel group. She spent decades traveling and singing, spreading the good news through her music. While declining health kept her closer to home in her final years, the music and the Lord she loved so dearly remained the anchors of her life. Alice had an appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. She loved her flowers, especially adorning her yard with unique, solar-powered decorations, and loved riding around with her husband. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Michael Lester, three sisters Angie Rosenbaum, Irene Cline and Ilene Kennedy, a brother Jerry Blankenship. She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Roger Lester her two devoted daughters, Barbie Acord and her husband Roger Acord of Glen Fork, and Brandi Lester of Tucson, Arizona, her grandchildren BJ (Candice) Acord of McGraws, Haley (Garrett) Bailey of Huntington WV, David Acord of Glen Fork, and Baylee Lester of Canonsburg, PA, three great-grandchildren, Hunter Trump, Kymber and Kaydence Acord all of McGraws, who brought her immense joy. Alice leaves behind two dear sisters, Maxine (Arlen) Steele of Lynco, and Mary McGovern of Glen Daniels, and a host of other nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. She will be laid to rest Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
