"Lonnie Mullins, 78, of Raysal, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at his residence following a brief illness.
"Lonnie was born March 29, 1938 in Raysal, WV, a son of the late Tom and Laura Bell Rowe Mullins. He was a former corrections Officer at Keene Mountain Correctional Facility and a former coal miner at Olga Coal Company. Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an active member of both the Bradshaw American Legion Post 175 and the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1144 in Iaeger. He was also a member of the Old Country Church at Raysal and a lifelong resident of Raysal.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Mullins; two brothers, Jesse James Mullins and Andy Mullins; three sisters, Goldie Sexton, Nora Johnson, and Tommy "Dixie" Christian; and a step son Eugen Allen Honaker.
"Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Reba Blevins Mullins of the home; one son Donnie Mullins also of the home; one step son, Brad Honaker of Capon Bridge, WV; two brothers, Ulis Mullins and Steve Mullins both of Raysal; and two sisters, Elva Malone and Joyce Arrington both of White Pines, TN.
"Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11o'clock with Reverend Charles Rose officiating at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV. Burial will follow in the Mullins Cemetery at Paddle Fork near Raysal, WV, where military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #175 and the VFW Post #1144...."

"Dianna Gayle Parks, 62, of Welch WV, died peacefully, Friday, August 7, 2015, at the home of her dear friend and caregiver.
"Dianna was born on September 26, 1952, in Logan WV, she was the younger daughter of Wiley V. "Tye" and Henrietta Parks. Dianna graduated from Concord College with a B.S. degree in Education majoring in Home Economics. While at Concord, she was a member and then served as president of the Omicron Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. She also earned a master's degree in administration from WV College of graduate studies. She made her home in War WV, and then in Welch WV. After several years of teaching home economics and vocational food service, she became food service director for McDowell County Schools and held this position until her retirement.
