"GILBERT Denver Stacy, Sr., of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, W.Va.

"Born August 24, 1936, at Panther, W.Va., he was the son of the late Andy and Bertha (Harless) Stacy.

"He was a charter member of the Isaban Baptist Church at Isaban, W.Va. He accepted the Lord in November of 1949. He remained a pillar of the church throughout his life.

"He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Bertha Stacy; his sisters,Ruby (Oscar) Roberts and Clara Jean (Raymond) Birchfield; and his brother, Clyde Stacy.

"Survivors include his bride of 52 years, Phyllis (Lester) Stacy; his son, Denver Dale Stacy, his pride and joy; his daughter-in-love, Lori Stacy, all of Gilbert; and his loving granddaughter, Jenna Lynne, his little squirrel of Morgantown; and a host of family and friends.

"Denver was an encourager to young people and instilled to all of us to have a positive attitude. He attended Iaeger High School and McDowell County Vocational School where he excelled in Engineering. He was in the coal mining business with his life-long friend, the late Charles Icenhour, with I & S Coal Company; Spring Branch Coal Company, and South Fork Resources. He was involved in mining operations in West Virginia, Virginia, and Kentucky. He also worked at River Ridge Coal Company and later retired from Pittston Coal Company. He was also a great asset to his son's many businesses. He was an auxiliary member of the Gilbert Volunteer Fire Department and past member of the Gilbert Kiwanis Club.

"A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.

"Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Jackie Lester and Mason Perry. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Godby Heights, Pecks Mill. ..."

"Phyllis Stacy, 77, of Gilbert, passed away at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, WV. on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.

"She was born December 19, 1937 at Iaeger, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wheeler Lester and Florence Cline Lester.

"In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Denver Stacy and her brother Charles (Anna) Benny Lester.

"Phyllis was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was involved in several business adventures in her life. She was co-owner with her dear friend, Peggy Icenhour, of Isaban Grocery. Owner of Phyllis' Ceramic's Shop, where she was a certified ceramic teacher. She took a major role in the Garden Club. She served as secretary of the Logan Council of Garden Clubs. Served as president of the Honeysuckle Garden Club. Vice President and President of the WV State Garden Show where she served as a Master Judge. She was the chairman of the Class of 1956 Baileysville High School Reunion. She was a piano teacher in the local area. She was a pianist at Isaban Baptist Church and various churches. She was an insurance sales representative for Kentucky Central, Accordia, Appalachian Life, and Flat Top Insurance Company. She served as church clerk and Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher and director. While serving as a member of the Isaban Baptist Church she helped start several other missions. She served as chairman of the Gilbert Christmas Parades. She was the inspiration and organizer of Christmas On the Mountain. During the final days of her life she was honored to be chosen as theGilbert Christmas Parade Marshall 2014. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Justice.

"Those left to love and cherish her memory are her son, Denver Dale Stacy, II and her daughter in love Lori Stacy of Gilbert; her grand daughter Jenna (Curtis) Dukes of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Her sisters; Margaret (the late Truman) Roberts of Bluefield, WV, Rita (Ralph) Trent of Gilbert, WV and Pat (Carlo) Gentiletti of Bridgeton, NJ. Her best friend since childhood Norma Cline of Tazewell, VA and a host of other dear friends and family.

funeral at 11:00 am on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Justice, Justice, WV with Gary Justice, Jim Nagy, and Timer May officiating.

"Born in Baileysville, WV on June 28th, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Fortner. Besides her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Johnny Lee Jenkins. Mrs. Jenkins was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an employee of Bankers Security Life Insurance Company, of Arlington, VA where she worked for 15 years before retiring in 1995 because of health problems.

"She is survived by three sons, Johnny Lee Jenkins Jr. and his wife Cindy of St. Cloud, FL, Michael Todd Jenkins and his wife Debbie of Riverview, FL, and Shawn Scott Jenkins and his wife Tammy of Baileysville, WV; one sister Peggy S. Carey Lynn Haven FL; one brother Nick Fortner and his wife Loretta of Brenton, WV; seven grandchildren, Andrea Jenkins of Manassas VA; Megan Jenkins of Roanoke VA; Joshua Johnson of Atlanta GA; Kelsey Jenkins of Riverview FL; and Scott, Shane and Shyan Jenkins of Baileysville WV; two nephews, Dean Carey of Mooresville NC; Luke Blackburn of Brenton WV, and one niece Debbie Burkett of Panama City FL, and a host of extended family members and friends.
