Born February 8, 1932 at Hensley, WV she was the daughter of the late Elijah & Ruby Mae (Justice) Vance. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Oscar Vanover; son in law: Lee Hatfield; 4 brothers: Claude, Hoarce, Charles and Jim Vance; 5 sisters: Evelyn Perry, Ida Jean Vance, Reba Ellis, Pricie Dunnigan, Sylvia “Sib” vance. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Mary and to mourn her passing include her 3 daughters: Genell Simpson of Gilbert, Jean (Paul) Hatfield-Caldwell of Childersburg, Al, Meletta (Darren) Stanley of North Springs; 3 grandchildren: Jada (Justin) Mitchell of St. Albans, Blake (Brooke) Hatfield of Alabama, Natalie Stanley of South Charleston; 3 great grandchildren: Kylie Blankenbecker, Bella Hatfield and Owen Mitchell; brother: Harry Vance of Baisden; 2 sisters: Carrie Wilburn of Abingdon, Va, Janice McCary of Lebanon, Va; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends. Friends may gather with the family on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Lester and Rev. Clifford Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Justice, WV. Mary will be carried to her final resting place by Brett Dotson, Darren Stanley, Paul Caldwell, Justin Mitchell, Blake Hatfield, James Nicholas, Terry Vance and Kent Vance. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bubby Toler, David Simpson, Larry Dotson, Tommy Joe Vance, Alonzo Vanover, Tom Perry, Dan Wilburn, Mike Cortner, Harry Vance, David Gibson and Jimmy Vance. Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her."
