He was born on October 18, 1947 in Cabin Creek, WV a son of the late Edward Clayton Epperhart, Sr. and Thelma Faye McMillion Epperhart. Ed attended the Brenton Baptist Church and was a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Sara Jane "Kitty" Toler Epperhart, three brothers William Epperhart, Robert Lee Adams and Johnny Epperhart, and a sister Shirley Ann Epperhart.
