"Arthur E. Justice, 86, of Ravenswood, W.Va., passed away on July 26, 2008, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley."He was born June 8, 1922, in Logan County, W.Va., to the late Sherman and Lula Zirkle Justice. He worked as a Union Bricklayer. Arthur was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ravenswood, and Ravenswood VFW Post 6669. He served his country in World War II with the U.S. Army, 91st Infantry Division which was involved in the North African Surge that went through Italy. He loved God and his family and was very patriotic.
"Arthur is survived by three daughters, Carol Durnell and her husband, Richard, of Parkersburg, Pam Ice and her husband, Larry, of Morgantown and Sherry Dean and her husband, Bruce, of Marietta; three grandchildren, Ann Moonen, Chris Drain and Ashley Dean; and three great-grandchildren, Logan and Madison Moonen and Haley Drain.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Elaine Justice; brother, Sherman Jr.; and sisters, Mary and Jackie.
"Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Fred Basnett Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery with full military graveside rites provided by Ravenswood VFW Post 6669..."

"My maternal grandparents were Floyd Ferman Adams of Holden, Logan, WV and Maggie
Manila Gordon of Kings Mountain, Grover, Cleveland, NC. I never knew my
grandfather who died in 1952 . Grandma died when I was 11 in 1972. My mother,
Edith Elaine Adams Justice born 1 Nov, 1919, died 4 Oct 1993, had me in 1961. I
taught 5th grade for many years in Ravenswood, WV, lived in Marietta, Ohio for 8
yrs, am now in Charleston, SC for the past 8 months. I started Ancestry.c
approximately 2 yrs ago and recently found out my father had married Margaret
before my Mother. He never spoke of her. According to my parents marriage
license, Mom knew because he was marked widower (sic, he was listed as single).
He spoke of living with a hungarian family in a boarding house. Is Bowlick/Bolick hungarian I have never had time for genealogy until now. Maggie Manila's mother, Mary Edith Catherine Harry of Kings Mountain, NC has me fascinated with her lineage. I have a handwritten letter from about 1938-39 to my mother listing the family members of the Harrys back to Washington Marion Harry..."
