He was retired from the Department of Defense and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. "In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melda Spry Adams; two sons, Frankie Adams and Bobby Adams; two brothers, Mike Adams and Bert Adams; and one sister, Dorothy Sexton. "Survivors include one son, Billy Adams of Connecticut; one daughter, Melissa Adams of Connecticut; one daughter-in-law, Diane Adams; two stepsons, Roger Maynard and his wife Maxine of Princeton, and Lucian Maynard and his wife Sally of Harts; four stepdaughters, Della Meade and her husband B.F., Patty Jarrell and Janet Duncan, all of Princeton, and Shevonna Morgan and her husband Randy of Citra, Fla.; one brother, Elmer Adams and his wife Thu of Highland Ranch, Colo.; four sisters, Sophia Adams of Highland Ranch, Liz Kovach and her husband Frank of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Margaret Carter and her husband James of Victorville, Calif., and Julie Souza and her husband Ron of Geneva, Ohio; four grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.
