"The victim of a single-vehicle accident in Wyoming County Wednesday has been identified by authorities.

"Bruce Blankenship, 72, of Clear Fork, was dead at the scene, according to Sheriff Randall Aliff.

"The vehicle was traveling south on W.Va. 971, toward Baileysville, when Blankenship apparently lost control, according to witnesses. The vehicle slid into the remains of a burned-out storefront, then overturned, the sheriff said.

"Wet road conditions apparently were a contributing factor, Aliff said.

"A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Welch Emergency Hospital, Aliff said. A condition was unavailable...."

29, 2009. Sam was born September 18, 1937 in Clear Fork, WV, a son of the late Bruce and Jocie
Josephine Acord Blankenship, Sr. Sam was a retired coal miner. His daughter Lisha “Lisa” Hall also
preceded him in death along with two sisters Geneva Cole and Margie Rowe and two brothers William
Cook and James Blankenship.

"Freda Mae Massey Blankenship, 76, of Oceana, WV passed away on January 29, 2016 at the McDowell
Nursing and Rehab, Gary, WV. She was born on October 31, 1939 in Sunhill, WV a daughter of the late Hicks
and Martha Lambert Massey. Freda was the last survivor of her immediate family. In addition to her
parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Bruce Blankenship, Jr.; two daughters Tina
Toler and Lisa Hall; brothers Ed Massey, Junior Hicks Massey, Lee Massey, Bill Massey and Ralph Cook;
sisters Sue Belcher, Dollie Rollins and Hannah Cook. Survivors include Two sons Ricky (Valerie)
Blankenship of Lynco and Tommy (Ella Mae) Blankenship of Kopperston; several grandchildren and great
grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on
Monday February 1, 2016 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Jesse Cline
and Rev. Steve Massey officiating, In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated...."

"LYNCO — Robert Gene “Rob” Blankenship, 72, of Lynco, who resided in Harrisville, W.Va., for the past year, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 14, 2012.

"He was born May 2, 1940 in Clear Fork, WV a son of the late Bruce Blackburn and Josie Acord Blankenship. Rob was of the Holliness Faith. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Shirley Caroline Burrell Blankenship; an infant son Samuel Matthew Blankenship; a daughter Geneva Pennington; four brothers William “Bill” Cook, Bruce “Sam” Blankenship, James Blankenship, and Holland Blankenship and two sisters Geneva Cole and Margie Rowe.

"He is survived by three daughters Edith (Bobby) Rollins of Lynco, Caroline (Gary) Eakle of Harrisville and Anita (Leon) Kennedy of Hanover; a son David (Norma) Blankenship of Lynco; two sisters Catherine Hatfield of Coal Mountain, and Patsy Benjamin of Oceana; fourteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; his companion of 14 months Sarah Daugherty ; her two sons Terry and Roger Daugherty; her daughter Cheryl Marshall and families, and a host of other loving family and friends.
