She was born on November 6, 1936 in Paynesville, WV a daughter of the late Arthur and Ida Estep Lester. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Ulice Blankenship, two sons Tommy and Oliver “Bucky” Blankenship, her siblings Johnny, Dan, Dennis, Oliver, Doliver, Oakey, Hensley, Delphey, and Rosa Lester, and Oscar and Jarvis Roberts, her grandchildren Sabrina Blankenship, Bucky Ryan Blankenship, and Christopher Ritchie. Survivors include her daughter Joyce Lafferty and husband Calvin of Ravencliff, seven grandchildren James Smith of Ravencliff, Christina Snuffer and husband Christopher of Ravencliff, Jeremy Mammano of NC, Tommy Blankenship of Beckley, Brandi Maxi of NC, Jeffrey Miller of Beckley, and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, November 25th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Cecil Thompson officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 11am until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in the Blankenship Family Cemetery, Ravencliff, WV.
