Born July 9, 1925, in Gary WV, he was the son of the late Lester B. Allen Sr and Blanche D. Roark Allen."He was a resident of Gary all of his life. He retired from U.S. Steel Gary after forty and one half years; where he worked as a carpenter. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a Veteran of World War II; serving in the Marine Corps for four years. He was an avid bowler. He and his wife traveled to many states participating in tournaments, where they won many trophies. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and American Legion Post 38 of Gary, WV.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his wife Thelma Marie Dishorne Allen, one daughter, Carolyn Alice Allen Lusk, one son in law Roy C. Lusk.
Survivors include, one sister, Mary Lou Reed of Gary WV, two brothers, Fred Allen of Vancebury KY, Dewey E. Roy C. Lusk of Alabama.
"She leaves behind to cherish her memory her

Tennessee. One great grandson, Evan Ray Myles of

"Exel Travis Lusk, 71, of Cyclone, WV, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, April 11, 2026 at his home. He was born on September 17, 1954 in Man, WV a son of the late Travis Marvin and Justine Josephine Workman. Exel was a lifelong resident of Cyclone, WV, a father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and great friend to anyone lucky enough to know him. He loved spending his time working, the smallest challenges enticed his mind, he loved finally getting finished with a project or job that need to be done. Exel also loved spending time with his friends and family, hunting with lifelong friends and relatives, sitting on the porch watching the mountainside with his wife Brenda, who he loved endlessly. He was a coal miner by profession, a brother to countless men underground, and spending his later years guiding his grandkids to be better men. He enjoyed watching the Red’s, Braves, NASCAR and endless westerns like Gun Smoke. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Kevin Exel Lusk, and a daughter Kimberly Kay Lusk. Survivors include his loving wife Brenda, a son Brian Exel Lusk of Cyclone, a sister Reva Lusk Gibson of Brandywine, three grandchildren Kevin Isaac Lusk, Matthew Brian Lusk, both of Cyclone, Aaron Franklin Irick and wife Jordyn Shay of Ottawa, three great grandchildren Bentley James Irick of Cherryvale, KS, Vada Ashlynn Irick of Ottawa, and Brynlea Sage Osborne of Matheny, a brother-in-law, Ronald (Pam) Workman who he considered a brother of Cyclone, and a host of other loving family and friends. "Charles Curtis Gibson, 68, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV. He was born February 14, 1956 in Welch, WV, a son of the late John William Gibson and Essie Brown Gibson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He worked hard to provide for his family. He spent 24 years as a coalminer and was a proud member of the UMWA. He also enjoyed ginsenging, coon and groundhog hunting and raising a garden. He never met a stranger. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. Those who knew him, will never forget him. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Travis and Justine Lusk, four sisters Willie (Ott) Maynard, Betty (Carlos) Maynor, Sarah (Boy) Maynor, and Edna “Peachy” Morgan, six brothers Bill “Bud” Gibson, Roland (Barbara) Gibson, Bob Gibson, Carmel (Karen Lynn) Gibson, Roger “Nig” Gibson, and Donald Ray Gibson, a special Niece Shauna Maynor Peyton. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Reva Gibson of Cyclone, a daughter Pamela (Rick) Smith of Cyclone, two sons Kenneth (Donna) Gibson of Brandywine, and Timothy (Tiffaney) Maynor of Cyclone, eight grandchildren Kelsey (Chris) Lusk of Cyclone, Briana (Jeremy) Myers of New Richmond, Ricky Smith and fiancé Ginger Bailey, Mason Peters, Aiden Garrett, and Curtis Maynor all of Cyclone and Emma Gibson and Ethan Gibson both of Brandywine, a baby girl Maynor due in December 2024, five great grandchildren Makenna and Laken Lusk of Cyclone and Brylee, Brody, and Berkley Myers of New Richmond, a sister in law Harriet (Sissy) Gibson of Brenton, a special friend Patricia Workman of Cyclone, and a host of other loving family and friends.
