"Lester B. “Buddy” Allen Jr, 93, of Gary, WV, Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division. Born July 9, 1925, in Gary WV, he was the son of the late Lester B. Allen Sr and Blanche D. Roark Allen."He was a resident of Gary all of his life. He retired from U.S. Steel Gary after forty and one half years; where he worked as a carpenter. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a Veteran of World War II; serving in the Marine Corps for four years. He was an avid bowler. He and his wife traveled to many states participating in tournaments, where they won many trophies. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and American Legion Post 38 of Gary, WV.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his wife Thelma Marie Dishorne Allen, one daughter, Carolyn Alice Allen Lusk, one son in law Roy C. Lusk.
Survivors include, one sister, Mary Lou Reed of Gary WV, two brothers, Fred Allen of Vancebury KY, Dewey E. Allen and wife Kay of Morganton N.C., one brother-in-law, Oscar Dykes, one granddaughter, Deborah M. "Thelma was an active bowler for 30 plus years at

tournaments all over the country. She was also a
volunteer at Stevens Clinic Hospital.

daughter: Carolyn Alice Allen Lusk and son-in-law,
Roy C. Lusk of Alabama.
"She leaves behind to cherish her memory her
husband of 59 years, Lester B. (Bud) Allen, Jr. of
Gary, WV, one granddaughter: Deborah M. Lusk
Bosworth and husband, Christopher Bosworth of
Tennessee. One great grandson, Evan Ray Myles of
Ft. Hood, Texas, two great granddaughters: Jennifer
E. Myles and Shianne M. Myles of Tennessee. Two
step great grandchildren: Cody and Krysta Bosworth
