"James Robert "Bob" Berkhead, 79, of Fanrock, WV passed away on Monday July 10, 2017 at his home. He
was born August 31, 1937 in Hazard, KY, a son of the late Ferman Wesley and Lois Pollard Berkhead. He
was a member of the Briar Creek Tabernacle, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Nila Sue Lusk Berkhead, a grandson
Bryndon Wesley Berkhead and an uncle Maurice Berkhead. Bob was a US Army Veteran. Those left to
cherish his memories are a son Wesley Berkhead and wife Stephanie of Fanrock; three grandchildren
Jeffery Berkhead, Kyle and Danielle Hatfield and Katy and Shannon Gartin; two brothers Thomas Berkhead
and Richard and Bobbie Berkhead all of Danville, VA; a great grandson Bentley Lester and two other great
grandchildren due to be born in 2017; and a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday July 16, 2017 in Altizer Family Cemetery, Brier Creek,
WV, with Pastor Ernest Francis officiating. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct
military rites. Bob's cremains will be laid to rest with his wife Sue in the Altizer Family Cemetery, Brier
Creek, WV...."
