"Mrs. Brooks was born and lived in McDowell County for 36 years and spent the last 51 years in Wyoming County. "Eva J. Lusk, 91, of Brier Creek Trace Fork Road went to her heavenly home Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley WV. She was born April 9, 1923 in War WV, she was the daughter of the late John and Jenny Christian Altizer. She was a devoted servant of the Lord for 70 years this April, attending various churches as a member, until sickness prevented. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Otis G. Lusk, one son John Otis Lusk, one grandson Todd Lusk, five sisters, Helen Lusk, Tiny Whitten, M'ledge Altizer, Frankie Short, and Opal Thomas. Survivors include, three sons, Earl N. Lusk and (Sandy) of Fanrock WV, Sam Lusk and (Debra) of Maysville KY, Randy D. Lusk and (Nancy) of Fanrock WV, two brothers, David Altizer and wife Elsie of South Williamson KY, and Douglas Altizer and wife Joan of Barboursville WV, one brother in law, Ralph Whitten of Fanrock WV, nine Grandchildren and sixteen Great Grandchildren, in whom she was very proud, and a host of church family and friends.
