"Cora Allen, 88, of Mohawk, died Sunday at a Princeton Hospital.
"Born in Buchanan Conyty, Va., she was the daughter of the late Basil and Rebecca Hurley Dotson.
She was a member of Mohawk Freewill Baptist Church for the past 41 years, a homemaker, and a
resident of Mohawk most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Allen Sr., two
sisters and three brothers.
"Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Roy (Pauline) Jockisch of Inverness, Fla., Mrs, Jim (Jenny) Hall of
Homasassa Springs, Fla., Mrs George (Gladys) Dotson of Mohawk and Mrs. Jimmy (Nancy) Freeman
of Fairfax, Va.; sons, Ray Allen of Capels, Joe Allen Jr., of Kimball and James Allen of Chilton, Mich.;

"Joe Allen Jr., 85, of Kimball, West Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Bowers Hospice House. He was surrounded by loving friends and family in his last days and supported in his passing with loving words, reading of the Bible and singing of gospel songs. Born April 1, 1928, in Loredo, WV, to Joe Sr. and Cora Dotson Allen, he lived most of his life in Kimball, WV.
"Joe was an incredibly hard-working man. He owned and operated Allen Trucking Company in Keystone for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed running heavy equipment, sharing laughs with friends, listening to bluegrass and gospel music and good home cookin’.
"He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Minnree and his two brothers, Ray and James Allen. As well as a grandson, Corbin Turney.
"Joe is survived by his three daughters, Linda Sue Mullins and husband Richard of Kernersville, NC, Cora Mae Kroll of Jacksonville, FL and Kathy Turney and husband Darrell of Winston-Salem, NC; his granddaughter, Melissa Rumple and husband Scott; his great granddaughters, Morgan and Kara.
"Also surviving Joe is his life partner of 28 years, Betsy Bailey of Pineville, WV and her children, he loved as his own; Robert Bailey of Pineville and wife Christina of Keyrock, WV, Sergeant First Class Rodney Bailey stationed in San Diego, CA, Matthew Mullins and wife Hannah of Beckley, WV and Carla Weaver and husband Chris of Beckley, WV; his adopted grandchildren: Leah, Seth, LeAndra, Rose, Matthew, Samuel, Luke and Christian.
"Joe is also survived by his four sisters, Pauline Jocksich, Maggie Hall and husband of FL, Nancy Freeman and husband Jimmy of Fairfax, VA, Gladys Hunt and husband Denver of Mohawk, WV; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
