"PINEVILLE — William “Woody” England Jr., 79, of Pineville, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Welch Community hospital following a sudden illness."Born December 27, 1931, at Isaban, he was the son of the late William “Bill” England and Eunice Lester England."Woody was a member of the Pineville Church of the Nazarene and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He also was a member of the Guyandotte Longbeards, Chapter of National Wild Turkey Federation, Baileysville Hall of Fame, former member of the Pineville Lions Club, was on the Board of Directors for the Castle Rock Bank of Pineville and was manager of American Finance. In 1977 he bought the Goode Oil Company and formed the Pineville Distributing and Pinnacle Kwik Stop and retired from Woody’s in 2005."His most cherished moments were spent on Summers Farm in Buchannon teaching his boys to hunt and fishing on the New River with all the “River Rats”. He always enjoyed sitting under the shade tree at his garden with his garden buddies. We will never forget his funny true life stories of growing up."In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Ann Walls England."Survivors include his wife, Betty Jenkins England of Pineville; his step-sons, Mike Johnson and wife, Heather of Pineville and Bo Cook and wife, Ashley of Cool Ridge; his daughter, Heather Cook of Pineville; two brothers, Charles England and wife, Greta of Grandview, and Jim England and wife, Rose of Bland, Va.; and a sister, Betty J.
