"He was born in McDowell County, W.Va., on October 13, 1929 to the late James H. Stacy Sr., and Meda Justice Stacy. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Stacy and Donald Stacy, and a sister, Wilma Opal Bailey.
"He was retired from Stanley Furniture and worked as a miner for the U.S. Mine Workers Association. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Zella Roberts Stacy of the home; two sons, Quinten and wife Joan Stacy of Bassett and Danny Stacy of Martinsville; two daughters, Kathy and husband Danny Hodges of Bassett and Teresa and husband Tim Jones of Stuart; three sisters, Corba Wilkes of Roanoke, Charlotte Marie Branham of Patrick Springs and Kathleen Robinette of Man, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, David Nunn, Quinten "Bo" Stacy Jr., Stephanie Plaster, Sterlin Jones, Angel Bailey, Dusti Bailey and Chasity Bailey; three great-grandchildren, David Nunn Jr., Logan Nunn and Cole Sloan; and a special nephew, Gary Bailey of Patrick Springs.
