"Rev. Allen Blankenship, 79, gained his Heavenly reward on June 23, 2025 following a short illness. Allen was a man of great faith and was a strong example of the love of Christ to all of those who had the honor of meeting him. Allen pastored for many years as well as preaching wherever he was invited to bring the Word of God. He was a retired coal miner having mined in Lynco and at U.S. Steel. Allen was well-loved by all who knew him, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He will be missed dearly, but all of those who know Jesus Christ as their Savior have the promise of seeing Allen again. His deepest desire in life was for everyone to know the love of God and give their heart to Christ. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie and Wirt Blankenship, his first wife Joyce Blankenship, siblings Vennie, Dolly, Benjamin and Marie Blankenship and Firg Proffitt, his son Jeff Blankenship, and his son-in-law Larry Arbogast, Jr. Allen is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty children Pam (Carl) Honaker, Scott (Erica) Blankenship, and Kristy (Kevin) Green grandchildren Jacob Blankenship, Hannah Blankenship, Abby Blankenship, Lauren Blankenship, Caleb Arbogast, Madison Arbogast, Abbie Green, and Cadee Green great grandson Waylon Blankenship siblings Jay (Bridget), Hobe (Retha), Nub (Lois), and Lonnie (Donna). Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 3, 2025 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Gary Browning and Louie Collings officiating.
