"Louise Belcher, 89, of Beckley, formerly of Belcher Mountain, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. "Born February 9, 1921 at Algoma, W.Va., the daughter of the late Millard Abshire and Mary Warner Abshire. Louise spent her life as a homemaker and took great pride in her home and made sure her husband was always ready to fulfill his duties as a minister. She was devoted to her church and family and loved the members of Little Vine Baptist Church. Louise spent the last four years of her life in Beckley but her heart always remained in McDowell County. "Besides her parents Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband Rev. Morgan Belcher; sisters, Neta Belcher and Mildred; and an infant son, James Conley. "Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Deanna Hanna and husband Rufus of West Columbia, S.C., Ramona Meadows and husband Richard of Beckley; a sister, Joan Davis of Ashland, Ohio; granddaughter, Marjorie Kupfer and husband Charles of Lugoff, S.C.; grandson, Michael Elledge and wife Sandy of Blakely, Ga., great-grandchildren, Amanda Elledge, Noah Elledge, Daniel Branham and wife Doris and Joseph Branham; great-great-grandchildren Gracen, Kinsley, and Mia, extended family of Hanna grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
