"Wayne Carlos "Junior" Hatfield, Jr., 73, of Oceana, WV, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV with his loving daughter by his side. He fought a courageous three month battle after suffering a stroke in September. He was born July 18, 1951 in Welch, WV a son of the late Wayne Carlos and Lexa Lea Chambers Hatfield, Sr.. Junior owned and operated Hatfields General Merchandise, after his fathers retirement, in Oceana until the passing of his wife Virginia Ann "V.A." Lusk Hatfield in 1997. He cared for his father after his cancer diagnosis and was a lifelong caregiver for his brother Charles Randy Hatfield. He was a 1971 graduate of Oceana High School. Junior was a walking phone book, you could ask him any number for a business or person in town and he would most likely know it. He was a man that didn't like to be idle. He was always on the go or tinkering about. He enjoyed music and movies, a love he introduced and passed on to his daughter. In another life he would have been a truck driver. He always enjoyed movies and songs about 18 wheelers. He was a man who always had a story to tell. He was a Hatfield so he also had a temper. He would have given you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. Three of his greatest joys in life were his grandson Daniel and his two dogs Sheba and Buddy. Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Charles Randy Hatfield of Oceana, his daughter Lucinda Leann Sapinoso, son-in-law Derick Sapinoso, grandson Daniel Sapinoso all of Tronto, Canada, his good buddy Ladd Jasper of Oceana, and a host of loving family and friends."

"He was born March 21, 1940 to the late Luther and Hazel Bailey Lusk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 28 years Brenda Kay Osborne Lusk; sons Charles Lusk and Shawn Browning; granddaughter Sandra Cox; three brothers; four sisters; son-in-law Edmund Vance; and stepfather Julius Cook.
"Marlyn was a hardworker, always giving 100%. A dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, neighbor and friend. He worked as a coal miner for 28 years for EACC and Peabody Coal at Kopperston #1 Mine where he was a member of the UMWA. He was a Christian and a member of the Greenwood Church of God. He was anything but ordinary. Never meeting a stranger, he loved to talk and make new friends. He enjoyed watching wrestling and showing everyone his knife collection. He was blessed with many things, but a few held a special place in his heart. His family, his friends, his dogs, and his forever sweetheart Brenda Kay.
