"ASCO Donald J. Bishop, age 76, of Asco, W.Va., passed away, Thursday, April 26, 2012, at his residence. Born Feb. 13, 1936, in Asco, W.Va., he was the son of late Jesse and Lulu Shaw Bishop. He was a resident of Asco, W.Va. for the greater part of his life. Also, a 21 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He was retired from Welch Community Hospital as maintenance supervisor. A very avid fisherman and hunter.
Preceded in death by in addition to his parents; his wife, Imogene Gillespie Bishop; one son, Brien Bishop; and two grandsons, Brien Douglas Bishop and Matthew Kane Bishop; four brothers; and five sisters.
"Survivors include three sons, Gary and Wayne Bishop, both of Asco, W.Va.; Russell Bishop of Manchester, Tenn.; two sisters; his twin, Dottie Perry of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Ann Darr Deise of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Earnest Bishop of Davy, W.Va.; Glen Bishop of Woodbridge, Va.; Marion Bishop of Kodiak, Ala., and Jesse Bishop of Goldsboro, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Davy Church of God in Davy, W.Va. with the Reverend Michael Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Justice Cemetery in Asco where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Bradshaw American Legion Post 175 and Iaeger VFW Post 1144."
